Simsbury Pediatric & Adolescent Dentistry’s Green Initiative

Simsbury Pediatric & Adolescent Dentistry is pleased to announce the launch of a green initiative this month concerning plastic waste. Connecticut has eliminated single-use bags in stores last August and we wanted to do our part to help reduce plastic waste. We stopped handing out plastic bags at the end of visits and in their place now offer paper bags to patients who want them. Though most times, they don't want a bag at all. This is the culture here in CT now and we are proud to be part of it!
In addition to our elimination of plastic bags, we started a recycling initiative. Colgate has a recycling program in conjunction with TerraCycle. Here is the link to their website for those wanting more information: https://www.terracycle.com/en-US/brigades/colgate. We installed a dedicated collection bin and are handing out information to our patients about it. Kids will receive an "I recycled" sticker at the office.

Curious to learn more about both our green initiatives? Ask us the next time you’re in our office.
